Historic monument renovation | Structural engineering | Mechanical engineering | Building materials
Complete renovation of the Old Church and its museum building.
The site has three distinct parts: a parish, a church and a warehouse.
The parish building contains medieval plaster and wall remains, which will be on display after the renovation: a café and a museum with educational spaces.
The church was built in 1784, and the restoration has been carried out with the aim of restoring the façade to its original state.
The parish building is located on the Main Street side of the site; the church is in the middle and the warehouse is facing László Csáky Street. A pedestrian street with quality paving has been created next to these buildings.
The aim was to create a modern, usable building complex while preserving the heritage.
The old plaster, window frames, and wheel-arch stones found during the demolition of the building were presented.
The buildings have been designed in such a way that the modern technology (underfloor heating, wall heating, ventilation, etc.) is not conspicuous by showing the restored parts.
