Bertalan Árkay
(Budapest, 11 april 1901. – Budapest, 23 november 1971)
His architectural approach progresses from eclectic beginnings through Art Nouveau to modern avant-garde movements. Bertalan Árkay was one of the most commissioned architects for family home designs in the interwar period. Most of the family houses designed by him represent a high architectural standard. In addition to his design work, his competition projects also stand out. The most well-known among these is „Szent Korona útja and Vitézek tere építészeti megoldása”, with which he won the first prize. )(Today: Petőfi Bridge’s Buda bridgehead and the section of Irinyi József Road extending to Október 23 Street. It was realized in a fraction of the arrangement plan. This is demonstrated by the semicircular development visible at the intersection of the two roads.
